If you are a nature lover, there is a wealth of places to choose from: from the city to the hills and the valley.

For those who want to enjoy the greenery, but at the same time the comforts of the city, we recommend visiting the Orto Botanico botanical garden of the University of Pavia. Founded in 1773, the botanical garden is a place of research and conservation housing various flowers, tropical greenhouses, a herbarium and an arboretum.

Don’t forget to visit the Kosmos Museum of Natural History.

Remaining in the city of Pavia, immerse yourself in the nature of Ticino Park. The park extends along the entire course of the river, even beyond the provincial borders. In alternative, you can walk through the peaceful Vernavola Park.

Moving away from the city, enjoy the greenery at the Oasi Lipu Bosco Negri oasis woods. Another place of interest, both for the young and the old, is the Oasi di Sant'Alessio animal and nature park. Other nature parks include Parco Palustre in the town of Lungavilla and Parco le Folaghe in Casei Gerola.

In the territory of Lomellina you can visit Boschetto di Scaldasole nature reserve or Giardino dei Conti di Barbavara English garden, built at the end of the eighteenth century for the Counts of Barbavara.

Climbing the Apennines, you can reach Giardino Alpino di Pietra Corva Alpine garden in the area of Pietra Corva. Not too far, you can come across Riserva Naturale Monte Alpe nature reserve adjacent to Mount Penice.

Let yourself be lulled by the nature, a stone’s throw from Milan.
