Un'isola che si chiama 'TRE'? Solo in Malesia! Si chiama così la splendida isola di Tiga (che in lingua malese significa 'tre'): è la più grande delle tre isole che compongono il Parco Marino di Pulau Tiga. Il suo bellissimo paesaggio e l'ambiente naturale incontaminato hanno attratto la rete televisiva CBS degli Stati Uniti a utilizzarlo come location principale per il suo primo episodio in assoluto del popolare programma "Survivor", soprannominato "Survivor Island". Quest'isola si è formata attraverso l'eruzione di diversi vulcani di fango. L'ultima esplosione è avvenuta nel 1941 e da allora i vulcani sono rimasti relativamente passivi. Diversi piccoli vulcani di fango che emettono fango fresco e ricco di minerali possono ancora essere trovati vicino alla cima dell'isola. Le barriere coralline che circondano l'isola ospitano molte specie di pesci e altra vita marina. Tra le attività che ti aspettano qui ci sono le immersioni, gli sport acquatici non motorizzati, il trekking, il birdwatching e altro ancora.

An island called 'THREE'? Only in Malaysia! This is the name of the splendid island of Tiga (which in Malay means 'three'): is the largest of the three islands that make up Pulau Tiga Marine Park. Its beautiful landscape and unspoilt natural environment attracted CBS TV Network of the USA to use it as the main location for its first ever episode of the popular 'Survivor' Programme, dubbing it the 'Survivor Island'. This island was formed through the eruption of several mud volcanoes. The last explosion happened in 1941 and since then, the volcanoes have remained relatively passive. Several small mud volcanoes spewing cool, mineral-rich mud can still be found near the summit of the island. The coral reefs encircling the island are home to many species of fish and other marine life. Among the activities that await you here are diving, non-motorised water sports, trekking, bird- watching and more.
