You arrive Saturday afternoon at the 3-star hotel and you can spend the rest of the day in the cheerful town called Cecina Mare. You can visit the marina to go for a walk along the river until you arrive in Cecina’s city centre for some shopping and in the evening you dine together in the hotel.
Sunday morning after breakfast you and your family leave on foot to Marina di Bibbona for a slow and very easy 8 km hike across the plain, in the shadow of the centuries-old pinewood between Marina di Bibbona and Marina di Cecina. You can search for isolated beach corners and “cabins” made of wood washed up on the beach by sea storms, you can visit the Forest Service’s arboretum, containing plants and shrubs that are typical for the mediterranean shrubland, you can reach streches of beach that are not much frequented in this time of year and spend the intire day on the coast.
Arrived at the Bibbona watchtower, we take a look at the sea along the route of the cetacean sanctuary As there are no facilities or bars in the park, it’s good to bring a packed lunch with you.
As the surface of the paths are hard enough, you can also do this on your own bikes.
