WHAT AWAITS YOU
Sotto il Monte - a town about 15km from Bergamo - bears in its name the story of an important birth for this territory, that of Pope John XXIII who was born here and its where he lived his spiritual path.
Through the country roads, paths and woods of Monte Canto, you will directly experience a cross-section of his story.

Once you reach the top of the mountain, you will then find yourself on a beautiful terrace overlooking the entire Po Valley.
Monte Canto will offer you a versatile landscape, characterised by an area planted with vineyards, chestnut woods and corn fields as you head west towards the Adda river.
A visit to the birthplace of Pope John XXIII and the Romanesque Abbey of Fontanella are a must, and you will reach them through a magnificent area planted with vines.
Here you can choose whether to stop and taste the wines and typical products of this area (optional).

The route has a length of 25km and will last about 3 hours.

We recommend suitable equipment for a comfortable e-bike excursion.
We recommend the use of padded cycling shorts, but if you do not have specific bike / MTB clothing, we suggest you dress in layers with comfortable clothing and shoes that allow you to tackle even unpaved sections where you may encounter some puddles or mud.
We recommend the use of a helmet.
As a last tip, we suggest you bring a backpack with a possible spare shirt, a weather-proof jacket, a water bottle, sunglasses and sunscreen.
