Milan and the 11 capitals of art, between castles, villas, and gardens. A rich heritage and strong traditions come to life through a calendar of events for all tastes.

Palazzos, castles, museums, and more. Galleries of art, archeological parks, theaters, and villas: pieces that make up the puzzle in a sophisticated cultural landscape.

Cultural Tourism Lombardy. From the rock engravings of Valle Camonica to the Capitolium and Roman Forum in Brescia. The great heritage of Lombardy passes from the villas to the fortresses perched over lakes or plains, to the Certosa di Pavia, Leonardo Da Vinci’s The Last Supper, and Michelangelo’s Pietà Rondanini at Milan’s Sforza Castle. From Renaissance wonders like Mantua’s Palazzo Te to the sheer elegance of Monza’s Villa Reale.

Fast forward to the Museo del Novecento and the Museo delle Culture in Milan or to the modern day Piazza Gae Aulenti by architect Cesar Pelli, who took home the 2016 Landscape Institute Award. An event not to be missed and an absolute Milanese classic, the Prima alla Scala opens the season at the Teatro alla Scala.

Meanwhile, another hidden gem can be found at the Casa degli Atellani, an estate featuring the private vineyards of Da Vinci, given to him by Ludovico il Moro during his stay in the city. Thanks to the Fondazione Portaluppi in light of Expo 2015, the house can now be visited.
