The spas on cold or rainy days are an experience to try at least once in a lifetime. Day or night, with snow or under a starry sky, they are the best remedy for the tiredness and stress of everyday life.

How many of you have thought… I want to leave and give myself a moment of relaxation?

Close your eyes for a moment and imagine being immersed in a thermal bath where your body is lulled by the gentle movement of the waters.

All the thermal basins are located in wonderful places: from Tuscia to Ciociaria, passing through the province of Rome to the Suio complex.

Are the temperatures starting to get stiff? Don't worry, you can immerse yourself in the very hot pools in the province of Viterbo which can reach 65 ° C!

Our dream journey starts from Tuscia, one of the largest thermal areas in Italy. The area is very rich in pools and is characterized by the presence of truly suggestive free areas to be frequented all year round due to the high temperatures of the waters.

How many of you have ever heard of the Bagnaccio hot springs? They are located less than 10 km from Viterbo, they are free but subject to control by an association that requires a card for entry. The card is not mandatory and does not preclude entry to the pools.

Also in the vicinity of Viterbo, a delightful town to be discovered, you will find the Piscine Carletti, another free center whose waters reach a temperature of 58 ° C. They do not have night lighting or services but it is still a destination for many tourists and locals.

Moving near Tivoli, our tip is fixed on the Acque Albule Terme in Rome. Four sulphurous water pools with a constant temperature of 23 ° C throughout the year for a stretch of water of 6000 square meters. Three thousand liters of water per second, this is the amount of water that arrives in the thermal park from the two lakes Regina and Colonnelle from which they spring.

If the temperature of 23 ° C is not to your liking, in Palombara Sabina, just under an hour's drive from Rome, there are the Sabine Baths of Cretone with 3 large swimming pools, one of which for children, fed directly by sulphurous thermal mineral springs. A beautiful center where you can spend a day of absolute relaxation, including a bath, a massage and a healthy snack.

If you are a lover of ancient villages with millenary history and want to combine the thermal baths with a cultural trip, you cannot miss the Terme di Stigliano in Canale Monterano. The town is characterized by the remains of one of the most beautiful abandoned cities in Lazio, the ancient Monterano, where the remains of a castle, a church and an extraordinary Roman aqueduct with arches are still visible. The spa complex has a pleasant environment surrounded by nature that will welcome you to spend a day away from the chaos of everyday life. There are five sources from which hyperthermal sulfur-iodine water gushes with temperatures ranging from 36 ° C to 56 ° C.

Going towards the sea, in Civitavecchia to be precise, you will find the Terme della Ficoncella. The five pools open all year round stand on a beautiful hill, a unique setting will make your experience truly unforgettable.

In Ciociaria, the oldest thermal basin is that of Fiuggi, known for "the water that breaks stones". The complex consists of two factories, the Fonte di Bonifacio VIII and the Fonte Anticolana, for a total area of 94,000 square meters.

You may ask yourself, what is the difference between the two centers? Well, Boniface VIII, is the one predisposed to the real cure, to be done in the morning; the water of the Anticolana Spring, on the other hand, offers supplementary treatment in the afternoon.

In the municipality of Ferentino are the Terme di Pompeo, known and appreciated for the beneficial properties of its waters. The Varronian Baths complex in Cassino is made up of numerous springs and you will be struck by the rich hydro-mineral heritage of great and multiple potential.

If from Ciociaria you decide to move to the province of Latina, along the banks of the Garigliano river, in an oasis of extraordinary beauty, numerous springs of cold, thermal and hyperthermal waters gush out, known for their therapeutic capabilities since the ancient age Rome.

It is here that the Suio spa with swimming pools and hotel complexes arose and developed.

The Acque di Suio gushes out at temperatures ranging from 15 ° C to 64 ° C. The therapeutic factors of the waters of Suio are summarized in the heat, in the sulfur content, in the richness of carbon dioxide. But while heat and carbon dioxide act on synergistic factors, sulfur acts as the main factor of their therapeutic action.
