Calabria is adored by the sun and embraced by two seas in the heart of the Mediterranean, in a beautiful and mythical landscape, worthy to be lived and visited. For over 700 km the long sandy beaches, sometimes wild and unspoilt, alternate with the rocky coast in a wonderful and mythical landscape.

Riviera dei Cedri (Cedar Riviera) is the name given to the part of the Calabrian territory known as the Alto Tirreno Calabrese. The fifty kilometre stretch from Praia to Diamante and Cetraro to Capo Bonifati is the ideal place to explore a rugged coastline dotted with cliffs, kilometre-long beaches and protected seabeds.

The stretch of Calabrian coast of the southern Tyrrhenian Sea from Pizzo Calabro to Nicotera, passing through Tropea and Capo Vaticano, takes the name of Costa degli Dei. Whose coastal region is renowned for its series of bays, headlands, white beaches and transparent sea. Long white beaches alternate with jagged rocky areas dotted with small coves that can only be reached on foot or by boat. The scenic views and the proximity of the Aeolian Islands contribute to this dreamlike location. For divers, there is nothing more appealing than being surrounded by the coast’s exceptionally beautiful underwater flora and fauna.

Nestled between the sea and the slopes of Aspromonte, Costa Viola is characterised by its high and jagged coastlines, wide beaches and coves as well as numerous picturesque caves. From any given point you can admire wonderful views over Sicily and, in particular, the Aeolian Islands and the volcanoes of Stromboli and Etna. The coastal road winds across slopes carpeted with Mediterranean scrub however some areas can only be reached by foot along pathways.

The magnificent Costa dei Gelsomini(Jasmine Coast) is Calabria’s southernmost coastal region and is located between the cities of Riace and Locri. Overlooking the Ionian Sea, it is rich in biodiversity and is considered one of the most untouched coastal areas in Italy. The coast is home to many bays with low and sandy beaches alternating with high cliffs overlooking the sea.

The Costa degli Aranci (Orange Coast) corresponds to the stretch of the Ionian coast part of the Gulf of Squillace. It is one of Calabria’s major tourist destinations
and is renowned for its natural beauty that serves as the perfect backdrop to an incredible archaeological, historical and ethno-anthropological heritage. It is home to some of Calabria’s most charming and well-known seaside resorts such as Caminia, Pietragrande and Copanello. The coastline is recognised for its long low beaches that alternate between sand and gravel and which are intersected by granite peaks that plunge into the sea where they form underwater caves and ravines.

The Costa dei Saraceni (Coast of the Saracens) is among one of the most picturesque and unspoilt coastal areas of Calabria. It is located between Crotone and Isola di Capo Rizzuto, a short stretch of coast distinguished by its strips of very fine, Titian red sand. Other characteristics of this strip include the alternating promontories and gulfs made up of beaches of various sizes framed by wild and unspoilt vegetation. The whole coastal region contains a wealth of historical remains, as evidenced by ruins from the large Magna Graecian civilization and numerous medieval and Byzantine remains that are scattered throughout the area.

The Costa degli Achei  (Achean Coast) extends along the expansive Plain of Sibari  between the mighty hills of the Pollino Massif to the north and the last foothills of the Sila Greca to the south. The coast was named on account of the large number of Greeks who inhabited the area and the subsequent foundation of the ancient colony of Sybaris.
