Pandino is settled down in a predominantly agricultural area crossed by numerous streams and springs, in this area, in ancient time, there was a swampy and waterlogged  marsh: the Lake Gerundo inhabited by the legendary Tarantasio Dragon.

The first documented information about Pandino dates back to 1144 but it enters in history in the fourteenth century, when the lord of Milan, Bernabò Visconti, had one of his hunting castles built here.

The presence of the Milanese lords has attracted many people who were looking for a safe place to settle, perhaps hoping to find a job at the castle and Pandino slowly begins to grow.

Over time, the various feudal lords added other buildings: during the 15th century the Sforza family built the walls to protect the village from the Venetians.

However the construction was not completed and in some points the walls are closed with embankments, so the Venetians take advantage of it by conquering the village twice.

In the same century, in front of the castle, was built the church of S. Marta, whose initial function was a church connected to the castle

In the early 15th century occurred also the apparition of “La Madonna del Riposo” (Our Lady of Rest), which led to the construction of the sanctuary dedicated to her.

In 18th century was built the parish church of Santa Margherita in place of the ancient medieval church.
