(three days / two nights)

DAY 1 - CAMPOBASSO

Arrival in Campobasso and check-in at the hotel. Visit to the historical centre and its beautiful churches, such as the Chiesa di San Giorgio, the oldest in the city and probably built on the ruins of a pagan temple; Chiesa di San Bartolomeo, one of the oldest examples of Romanesque art in Campobasso, close to the Monforte Castle; Chiesa di Santa Maria del Monte, located opposite the Castle and first documented in 1241. During the walk in the historical centre, we will stop at two important museums. The Museo Sannitico, which houses numerous archaeological artefacts of the Samnite people, and the Museo dei Misteri, which displays the structures and costumes of the city's most representative folkloric event, the Festival dei Misteri, taking place on Corpus Christi Sunday.

Return to the hotel. Dinner and overnight stay.

DAY 2 - CAMPOLIETO - SANTA CROCE DI MAGLIANO

Breakfast at the hotel and departure for Campolieto, a very small municipality in the province of Campobasso. Visit to the farm and unique cheese making experience. At the end, tasting of cheeses of different ages, paired with other products.

We will then move on to Santa Croce di Magliano, a small town with marvellous murals that colour the streets of the village, sending out several striking messages. Lunch and visit to the important churches of great historical and artistic interest such as the Chiesa Greca, a rare example of Byzantine architecture in Molise; the Chiesa Madre di Sant'Antonio, of Tuscan architecture and restored several times; Chiesa di San Giacomo Apostolo, begun in 1747 and located in the centre of the town. Also of great historical importance is the Badia di Santa Maria di Melanico, located in the Melanico district about 18 km from the town and already inhabited in Roman times. In 976, the abbey was rebuilt by the Lombard princes Pandolfo and Landolfo, who, in the same year, founded another monastery, that of S. Elena in Fantasia, in the nearby area of S. Giuliano di Puglia.

Return to the hotel. Dinner and overnight stay.

DAY 3 - LARINO

Breakfast at the hotel and departure for Larino, where you will have the unique experience of discovering the town and its history accompanied by a cantor. Larino was an important Roman municipium, as shown by the remains of the amphitheatre and thermal complex. Also, in the centre of the town are the beautiful medieval Ducal Palace and the 13th century Duomo di San Pardo. Afterwards, a visit to a renowned winery and its vineyard, followed by a lunch with a tasting of five glasses of wine accompanying typical dishes.

After lunch, our trip will end and we will return home.
