Tour package 2 - Termoli, The Tremiti Islands and Larino. There are special places 'waiting to be experienced'.

Termoli is a seaside town of very ancient origins; the ancient village, known as 'Paese Vecchio' overlooking the sea, is characterized by fishermen's houses with warm colors and by alleys, courtyards and hidden corners that have remained suggestively intact. A flight of steps connects the 'Paese Vecchio' to the port area, distinct from the commercial area: where there are the docks reserved for the local fishing fleet and the pier of departure for the Tremiti Islands and to "Marina Sveva" a small and welcoming tourist port that witnesses various events held throughout the year and has become the site of national sailing regattas.

Guided tour of the 'Old Country,' The Fishermen's Village.

The tour of the 'Old Country' is accessed through the Tower side entrance, Swabian Castle side entrance or from the port steps and includes a visit to the Cathedral, the Swabian Castle, the commercial port and "Marina Sveva" the marina.

Inside the village, Frederick II of Swabia Street leads visitors to the characteristic alleys of the 'Old Country' to Piazza Duomo. Along the way you will see fishermen intent on mending fishing nets used by the Trabucchi, ancient constructions on the sea for the practice of sight fishing.

Possibility to taste typical seafood dishes directly on the sea, under the wall enclosing the Borgo marinaro, inside the 'Old Town' or at the Tourist Port.

Free time for relaxing stroll along the waterfront or shopping in the small stores of the 'Old Country' or 'Per il Corso,' a pedestrian area full of businesses, stores, bars, ice cream parlors and restaurants.

Along Frederick II of Swabia Street, fishermen can be seen intent on mending fishing nets used by the Trabucchi, the ancient sight-fishing machines , located under the wall that encloses the Borgo marinaro.

Useful information and advice to the traveler:

Visiting the Tremiti Islands involves medium/long routes to be taken on foot, in the first section of San Nicola Island the two uphill ramps leading to the center of the island are the most challenging. All visitors are recommended: comfortable footwear with rubber soles year-round.

In spring and fall: always carry a sun/rain hat, umbrella and/or waterproof jacket (to shelter from splashing water while navigating the archipelago circumnavigation).
