ABRUZZO'S TASTES IN TOUR

TASTING EXPERIENCE BETWEEN MOUNTAINS AND SEA - A careful selection of authentic food-and-wine experiences that reflects Abruzzo's lifestyle accompanied by housewives, producers, breeders, farmers and their excellent production of oil and wine.

PECORINO CHEESE TOUR - Flocks of sheep graze on Abruzzo's mountains feeding on aromatic herbs which give the cheese an unmistakable aroma. Pecorino is one of the products of our excellence which is meant to be tasted directly at the diaries and the farmhouses with some good bread and a nice glass of Montepulciano d'Abruzzo.

PICKING AND PROCESSING OF THE BEST SAFFRON IN THE WORLD - At the end of October, we pick up the so-called "gold of Abruzzo", the saffron. From the experience in the field to the several steps involved in the process, we'll learn from the farmer how to: cultivate, pick and process the saffron.At the end of the activity, a tasty saffron-based meal will be waiting for us. 

TRUFFLE HUNTING - Escorted by an expert truffle hunter and his faithful dogs among the stunning paths of Majella Mountain, we will be looking for the precious local truffle. A good amount of patience and time will for sure bear fruits to be eaten in tasty recipes combined with local wines.

OLIVE HARVESTING - Every year, from October until early December, we pick up olives. In the fields, farmers and workers share the joy of authentic, simple things like lunches, snacks and a lot of work to fill the bags for the oil mills. The satisfaction and emotion to see the emerald liquid scrolling is unique, but moreover, a pure joy for the palate to taste it on homemade bread. 

VISIT AND LUNCH AT THE FAMOUS TRABOCCO - The Trabocco is a stilt house that can be reached from a walkway. This ancient fishing machine allowed fishermen to avoid going out for fishing. The crystal water is going to frame an excellent fresh-fish-based lunch with good white wine, lolled by the waves of the sea.
