In the Gesso and Stura river park the bike rental service is active and the city has been equipped with maintenance and inflation stations for bicycles as well as a public washing machine. The bike certainly represents an alternative and ecological means. From the Casa del Fiume you can comfortably park your car and rent a bike to climb the plateau and past the monument called "Giuseppe Peano's Curve" you can take the tree-lined Viale Angeli full of noble liberty style villas to reach up to to the homonymous Sanctuary. The Sanctuary of the Madonna degli Angeli, since its origins, has been a landmark for the city. It can be reached along the almost three kilometers of the avenue of the same name, the destination of Sunday walks in the Cuneo area. The construction of the avenue dates back to the mid-eighteenth century and is a precocious example of “avenue alla francese”, then almost unknown in northern Italy, which provided for a wide central route flanked by a double tree-lined avenue on the sides, for strolling. The church overlooks a large garden, where the great cross stands out with the instruments of the Passion of Christ; the balcony that runs along the eastern side offers a suggestive view of the Gesso stream and the Bisalta. Retracing part of the shady avenue you can return to the modern Piazza Europa, which is located in the heart of Cuneo Nuova and, going along the Corso Nizza cycle path, flanking the renowned nineteenth-century arcades of the city, reaching Piazza Galimberti, a true city lounge born in the Napoleonic period following the demolition of the walls. Pedaling along Via Roma you will be able to observe the newly restored façades of its historic buildings by reading the centuries-old and fascinating history that characterizes it, among the frescoes and remains of the previous architecture. Once in Piazza Torino we suggest going along Corso Kennedy to go down, just before the Viadotto Soleri, on the Stura side, and follow the cycle path until you arrive near the point of confluence between the Gesso and the Stura until you reach the Casa del Fiume again.
In the city there are several benches, areas equipped with tables, benches and drinking water, within easy reach where you can regenerate and relax.
