Not to be missed in Basilicata is a visit to Craco, the ghost town, which presents itself to the visitor as a medieval sculpture full of charm. Abandoned in 1963 due to a landslide and remained immobile and unchanged over the years, it stands out among the gullies like an impregnable fort. Walking through the streets and visiting the abandoned houses leads to relive the many scenes of the numerous films set here: from the well-known “Christ stopped at Eboli” to the more recent “The Passion” and “Basilicata Coast to Coast”.
Immersed in the tranquility of the evocative rural landscape in the Calanchi National Park, lunch at a characteristic farmhouse, especially suitable for those who know how to appreciate country life. Here it will be possible to rediscover the richness of peasant culture and its ancient traditions by participating in the various company activities, such as the harvesting of vegetables and the care of animals.
