Starting from Terranova di Pollino, considered the natural gateway to the Pollino National Park, together with a hiking guide you will venture on an easy trekking path to the top of Timpa delle Murge. Walking among pines and brooms, it will be a journey into the geological history of this huge protected area. After stopping to admire four of the five highest peaks of Pollino, you will reach the point where pieces of oceanic crust were deposited following the tectonic events that caused the formation of the Apennine chain. In this place of evocative and primordial beauty, you will breathe an air of freedom and conquest thanks to the splendid view that will open up to your eyes from the top. The itinerary will, then, continue downhill towards the source Catusa, a true 'temple' of nature, rich in beech trees, an ideal place to listen to stories of banditry. At the end of the excursion, lunch at a characteristic farmhouse based on the tasty flavours of the woods.
