In Maratea an experience not to be missed is a visit to the imposing statue of Christ the Redeemer at sunset to enjoy a fabulous view. After a pleasant coffee break and a tasty 'bocconotto' (a typical Maratea dessert) in a characteristic pastry shop in the heart of the village, you will be taken on a short guided tour of the historic centre of Maratea. Here the guide will tell you about its rich artistic heritage and why it is called, among other things, the 'city of 44 churches'. At the end of the tour you will drive along a spectacular path, rich in vegetation and with the characteristic wild asparagus plants, to reach the top of Monte San Biagio where the statue of 'Christ' stands out. At the magical light of dusk you will find yourself in the most panoramic point of the area where, from the belvedere at the foot of the statue, you can enjoy an exceptional view of the beautiful Gulf of Policastro, for a romantic sunset overlooking the sea.
