Guided walking tour of the historic center of Tursi and the famous Rabatana with its deep and inaccessible ravines. It owes its name and its charm to the Arabs, rulers who have imprinted many aspects of their culture, their dialect and their traditions in these splendid places. Rabatana, in fact, derives from Rabat or Rabhàdi or Arabum, "den". Walking along it you can walk the narrow streets of the ruins of the primordial nucleus and visit the remains of the humble houses of the past. The district can be reached through a wide and steep flight of steps, which extends over the ravines, in the dialect called “Petrizze”, as the poet Albino Pierro recounts in his writings in the local dialect. We visit the church of Santa Maria Maggiore, the ancient cathedral of the town, with the hidden sixteenth-century crypt below. To delight the palate, lunch stop at the Poets' Palace.
