A few km from Matera, on the Pietrapenta path, near the Picciano ravine, crossing expanses of land cultivated with vineyards and rolling hills, it is possible to visit the Crypt of the Original Sin, one of the most fascinating rock churches in Southern Italy, also known such as the "Sistine Chapel of rock wall painting". Originally a natural cave, used as a church in the 9th century, it amazes for the richness and archaic character of the early medieval frescoes, created by the skilful hand of the "Flower Painter of Matera". The visit is made very impressive by a system of lights and sounds that expertly illustrate the entire cycle of frescoes depicting the theme of creation. After this immersion in the mystical world of religious art, we move to the Masseria Casal Dragone, the result of the work of five generations of winemakers who offer guests a rich selection of local products combining the most refined and characteristic flavors and products of the Lucanian territory with the wine of own production.
