Santo Stefano di Sessanio is part of the Club of the Most Beautiful Villages in Italy and is in fact among the most evocative of the Park, due to the harmony of the architectural elements: a cameo set in the mountains, next to the Campo Imperatore plateau
Beyond the fourteenth-century cylindrical tower, improperly called Medici, in the historic center you can visit the church of S. Stefano Protomartire, built between the fourteenth and fifteenth centuries, which looks like a single room in five bays, with an original presbyteral area on which open the chapels and a semicircular apse. The church of the Madonna del Lago, dating back to the 17th century, stands just outside the town, on the shore of a small body of water. There are numerous fifteenth-century houses with finely crafted arcades, windows and portals, including the Casa del Capitano
