The lower Monferrato of Asti, land of wines and saints, among wineries, abbeys and enchanted hills

Arrival in Castelnuovo Don Bosco with own vehicle or hired bus. First stop at Tenuta Tamburnin, whose origins date back to the second half of the 1700s. A long and majestic avenue of centuries-old acacias whose pruning branches were once used as support poles in the vineyards and today as fuel for heating the company buildings, it is the entrance to the estate, made up of 20 hectares of land, 9 of which are vineyards, 2 are hazelnut trees, meadows, woods and a small vegetable garden for family production. Here we will visit the cellar and at the end tasting of their fine wines. On foot we will then reach in a few minutes the light green Giant Bench, which is part of the Big Benches project, started in 2010 and conceived by the American artist Chris Bangle. Next stop is the Abbey of Santa Maria di Vezzolano, in Albugnano, a religious building in Romanesque and Gothic style, one of the most important medieval monuments in Piedmont. Stop for lunch in a restaurant. Following Passerano Marmorito, the birthplace of the great Giorgio Faletti, with its medieval village dominated by the castle. Finally, Castelnuovo Don Bosco to visit the citadel of the Salesians, the famous Colle Don Bosco, where you will immerse yourself in the life of St. John Bosco, the pride of this corner of Piedmont and very famous throughout the world for his works in favor of youth.
