Slow tourism in the name of great Outdoor for all

LAKE MAGGIORE, LAKE ORTA, LAKE MERGOZZO, OSSOLA VALLEYS

From spring to fall our lakes, mounts and valleys offer the opportunity to enjoy a real slow tourism with several activities in the open air. Regenerating walks or bike rides along the lake side, the river bank, up on a hill or in the middle of an alpine forest, just breathe and relax yourself!

The protected areas between lakes and mountains as well as the slopes of Mottarone, the Ossola valleys or again the foothills of Vergante and Upper Lake Maggiore are perfect sites for trekking and excursions, alone or together with expert guides. The Reserve of Fondotoce and the Lagoni Nature Park are ideal for running and family walking.

Up on the high mountain try the exciting free climbing on cliffs with various difficulty levels. Some valleys in Ossola are a paradise for canyoning and kayak. Paragliding completes the exciting sport offer for mountain lovers.

Many opportunities exist also for cyclists and mountain bikers who can find routes on asphalted roads or in the woods, from the lakes to Mottarone or in the Ossola. There are cycling roads along the western bank of Lake Maggiore, around Lake Orta, while the most simple cycling route is the long "Ciclovia del Toce" from the mouth of the Toce river following its plain up to Domodossola. Great bike itineraries lake view can be enjoyed in the Vergante and Mottarone hilly regions, while the most demanding mtb trails are of course the mountain ones in the north of Lake Maggiore, and in the Vigezzo, Antigorio and Formazza Valleys in Ossola.

On Lakes Maggiore, Orta and Mergozzo visitors can alternate water sports such as swimming, canoeing, sailing, windsurfing and diving with a more and more relaxing sunbathing on the beach.

Well-equipped and internationally appreciated golf clubs are also available in the region of Lake Maggiore.
