Excursion to discover the two Forts of Colico, the Montecchio Nord Lusardi Fort, the best preserved First World War fortress in Europe and the seventeenth-century fort of Fuentes

Accompanied by expert guides, we will discover the Fort Montecchio Nord Lusardi, an exceptional example of military architecture of the twentieth century, the only fort that has remained intact as regards weapon installations in Italy. The original equipment is perfectly preserved and in working order: the electrical system, the intercoms, the hoists, the steering wheels. We will discover the four guns, model 149/35 Schneider, inserted in domes capable of rotating 360 °. The fort is a reinforced concrete and stone structure: from the second floor you can access the domes and going up to the roof you can admire, in addition to the splendid panorama, the cannons of the cannons. At the end of the visit, we will continue with a beautiful path towards the Monteggiolo locality and then go up again with a beautiful ancient road on top of the hill to visit the seventeenth-century Fort of Fuentes. The fortress was built between 1603 and 1606 and destroyed in 1796 by order of Napoleon. Today the remains of the building are still visible: the entrance, the soldiers' quarters, the mills, the oven, the church dedicated to Santa Barbara, the Governor's house and the mural complex, popularly called "Tenaglia" to the north-east. of for the particular shape.
