The "Garden of the Valley" is a public botanical garden always open with free entrance.
It is a special place, an oasis of peace that has risen where once there was a dump. It is a green area located in the bed of the river Garrovo; here it is possible to spend a few moments in the coolness of the nature and be inspired by the special atmosphere. Full of plants and flowers, it is enriched by many nice wooden sculptures, made by Gio' Aramini from Cernobbio.
The Garden we see today is the result of many years of work and of an idea of Mrs. Ida Lonati Frati who, for more than thirty years, with love and constancy, has transformed what was once an illegal dump into a fascinating place. Since the 80s, in fact, after having applied to the Municipality of Cernobbio, she took charge of the transformation of a "valley of brambles" full of waste of all kinds, in a rock garden. With time and the help of her most trusted friends, the area finally became lush and green. The care of the green today is entrusted to the Association "Il Giardino della Valle" and a group of volunteers.
Here you can walk, sit on one of the benches scattered in the garden, read a book... from time to time various events, such as classical music concerts or drawing workshops, are organized here. In fact, the place has always been loved by artists for the inspiration and calm that it manages to transmit.
