Season 9 will see the all-new Hypercar replace the top-tier LMP1 category, as well as an updated calendar of six races in Europe, Asia and the Middle East. The 24 Hours of Le Mans is still the cornerstone of the FIA WEC.

The WEC continues to offer teams, drivers, partners and stakeholders a unique stage to compete at some of the world's best race circuits. It also helps provide manufacturers with real relevance to advances in road car design and crossover technology, performance and safety. Comprehensive regulations allow complex and majestic sports prototypes, some with the latest hybrid technology, independent chassis and engine suppliers to compete at the highest level. It also allows some of the world's leading luxury car brands to go head-to-head in the always competitive GT categories.

At the end of the season in Bahrain, only the best endurance racers in the world who have proven to be the best in their game throughout the season will be worthy of being crowned. Drivers must prove their skill throughout the season, from the shortest 6-hour race to the longest 24-hour race.
