Autodromo Nazionale Monza's 2021 calendar involving main events was presented today at a online broadcast press conference and on the ACI Sport TV channel. ACI President Angelo Sticchi Damiani, ACI Motorsport Director Marco Ferrari, Autodromo Nazionale Monza President Giuseppe Redaelli, Autodromo Nazionale Monza General Manager Alessandra Zinno and Undersecretary in charge for Sport, Olympics 2026 and Major Events of Regione Lombardia Antonio Rossi illustrated to the press the sporting calendar of Monza circuit, filled with race weekends hosting national, European and international championships.

The season at the Temple of Speed officially begins on April 9 to 11 with Ferrari Challenge, the longest running single-brand championship in the history of the company from Maranello. On the following weekend Monza is hosting GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS (15-18 April) with GT Rebellion Series, GT1 Sports Club Europe, GT2 European Series, GT4 European Series and Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europe.

The Italian championships make their debut from April 30 to May 2 with the first ACI Racing Weekend involving the Italian GT Sprint Championship, Sport Prototypes, TCR Italy, Mini Challenge, M2 CS Racing Cup Italy and Topjet F.2000 Italian Trophy. The month of May is ending with the first weekend of the Roman promoter Peroni (28-30 May).

From 18 to 20 June the DTM runs for the first time in Monza, fresh from a change in regulations that opens the German championship to GT3 class cars. The month of July is dedicated to Endurance cars with the European Le Mans Series - 4 Hours of Monza - from July 9 to 11 and the FIA World Endurance Championship from July 16 to 18. The World Endurance Championship, for the first time in Italy, arrives to the Temple of Speed with the new class of Le Mans Hypercar prototypes.

The Formula 1 Italian Grand Prix 2021 is from September 10 to 12. This year marks 100 years of Italian Grand Prix, the race whose first edition was held at Montichiari circuit in Brescia in 1921, before moving the following year to the brand new Monza circuit, founded right for the occasion, in just 110 days.

From September 24 to 26, the Gran Turismos of the GT Open International Series return, along with the single-seaters of the Euroformula Cup and the GT Open Cup Europe. October is dedicated to the Italian series with the second Peroni weekend from 1 to 3 October and the second ACI Racing Weekend from 29 to 31 October. ACI Sport brings to Monza the Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine, the Italian F.4, the championship powered by Abarth, Italian GT Endurance Championship, Porsche Carrera Cup Italia and Renault Clio Cup Italia.

The sporting calendar ends with the fifth Special Rally Circuit by Vedovati Corse from 13 to 14 November and the Monza rally from 2 to 5 December. It is not sure yet if this last event will be part of the World Rally Championship as it was last year, with the first edition of ACI Rally Monza, and if it will be held in the first week of December.

Angelo Sticchi Damiani, President of Automobile Club d'Italia: "2021 must be the year of recovery. Monza is the flagship and the highest expression of Italian motorsport. We are committed to finding the resources so that this racetrack can present itself to the world in the best possible conditions next year for its centenary. Each of us must do our part not to miss this great opportunity. Making a good impression is our duty towards the Park, the city of Monza, the Region of Lombardy and the whole Italy".

Geronimo La Russa, President of AcMilano, connected from Rome for the occasion, together with President Sticchi Damiani warmly greeted the speakers and the audience connected to the live broadcast and wished a great new sport season to the Autodromo.

Alessandra Zinno, General Manager of Autodromo Nazionale Monza: "The 2021 sport season is richer than ever. Despite the uncertainties due to the epidemiological situation that have created many difficulties for the promoters in the planning of the calendars, Autodromo Nazionale Monza proves once again to be an essential stage for the most prestigious championships. Building such a rich calendar has been very challenging, especially for the evaluation of all possible scenarios that may occur in the upcoming months regarding the presence or absence of the public in the events. We have demonstrated in 2020 that we can safely hold motorsport races with spectators. We would like to be able to apply to spectators all the requirements that we have already established. We hope that soon we will be able to open again our stands to the public, allowing a fixed quota access to the fans".

Giuseppe Redaelli, President of Autodromo Nazionale Monza: "This year's events are numerous and of great importance. In September we will celebrate one hundred years of history of the Italian Grand Prix while in 2022 Autodromo Nazionale Monza will celebrate one hundred years since its foundation. It will therefore be a two-year period of anniversaries. If we can think and plan appropriate celebrations for these anniversaries, we certainly owe it to the President of ACI Angelo Sticchi Damiani who has shown that he cares about our circuit not only with words but with concrete projects and investments. This important milestone will be an opportunity to ensure the circuit as many years of activity, with some essential works. These works will be able to generate an important flywheel for the economy from their design to their execution, up to the use of the facility. The renovated circuit will generate an even more significant national induced activity. However, we must receive the support of regional and national institutions in order to adequately honor our commitments. In fact, the prosperity of the circuit has a positive impact on the local economy. The direct, indirect and induced local economic impact exerted by Autodromo Nazionale Monza for all the events of the year on the local territory is quantifiable in over 125 million euros. Moreover, the notoriety of the city of Monza at international level is linked to the Italian Grand Prix. Through the analysis we carried out with Google applications, Monza acquires global visibility through the most famous activity of the Autodromo. It is therefore clear how significant the contribution of the Temple of Speed is to the economy of Lombardy".

Antonio Rossi, Undersecretary in charge for Sport, 2026 Olympics and Great Events of Regione Lombardia: "Regione Lombardia has always been at the Autodromo's side and will be there also in the next two years. We believe in major events and the Grand Prix is one of the main ones that allows us to convey the value of sport. After a dramatic year, we will try to encourage sport at 360 degrees and I sincerely hope that we can soon return to normality. We have to team up between institutions, from the Municipalities to the Government, to reopen the circuit to the public, including fans".
