Program 

9:00 departure from L'Aquila to Bominaco and visit the Church of Santa Maria Assunta, which represents a masterpiece of the abruzzese Romanesque period, and the Chapel of Saint Pilgrim, completely decorated with fresco paintings dating back to the XIII century. It is possible to climb up the ruins of the castle just a few steps from the Benedictine abbey surrounded by a bucolic landscape out of time. Going along the Tratturo Magno you reach the Trabocchi Coast. 

13:00 optional lunch on the trabocco, an ancient wooden fishing machine still working transformed into a typical restaurant, to enjoy an authentic abruzzese gastronomic experience based on daily fresh fish and local wine! In the afternoon guided tour to the Sanctuary of the Holy Face in Manopello, pilgrimage site due to the holy reliquary which according to the legend could be that of Veronica’s veil displayed in a glass case behind the aisle.
