Program 

9:00 departure for the National Park of Gran Sasso and Laga Mountains through the “Tratturo Magno” an ancient route of Transhumance, and arrival in Campo Imperatore, called little Tibet for its moon landscape. Photo stop at the highplain at 1800 m above sea level and visit the Castle of Calascio dating back to 1380 and set of a number of movies including Ladyhawke. Optional lunch in a typical restaurant in Santo Stefano di Sessanio, one of the most beautiful villages in Italy owned by Medici family now greatly renovated. Guided tour of the village and free time to visit the ancient traditional art craft shops where you can buy typical DOP products like saffron from L’Aquila, the purest of the world called the “red gold” or local lentils and also traditional cheese, honey or jams, etc…
