Urban trekking program
10:00 / 15:00 guided tour of the city center following an itinerary which chronologically goes through all the history of the town from its foundation and combine the official history to its legends and mysteries, constellations and Templar knights, important characters like Frederick II and Celestino V, the famous Pope of the “great refusal”. Starting from Duomo Square you will walk through one of the most ancient and charming cobbled road of the town to reach the Basilica of Santa Maria di Collemaggio, with the first Holy Door in the world and the only one which opens every year, heart of the Perdonanza Celestiniana and of the majority of the city mysteries. Then you will discover the Basilica of San Bernardino, the most stunning example of Baroque in town, and finally you will visit the Castle, impressive Spanish Fort from the XVI century. You will go back to Duomo Square admiring historical palaces and little medieval squares and in the end of the tour you will have a taste of the typical product called Torrone in a local ancient café.
